Total Fail, No Total "Delayed Success"

A teachers group in Britain has proposed that the word “Fail” should be banned from use in the classroom. The group has proposed that instead of telling students they have failed a subject or test, they should be told that they have “delayed success” so as to not demoralize them.
We may laugh at this political correctness gone wild, but it is a subtle reminder how much our world doesn’t like to be told it's wrong. The danger in this approach is that rather than showing the student his work and study habits are not effective and need changing, it makes them think they are on the right path just a little slower in getting results. The realization of the need for change is lost.
This tendency to put feelings over truth is not just limited to the classroom. We see numerous examples today. In the religious world, we see less being taught about God's demands for his people and more focus on acceptance. Instead of trying to bring people up to God holiness, we try to reduce God’s standards.  The truth of the Word is watered down in order to make everyone feel good.
God’s message was never intend to make us “feel good” but rather to make us BE good. The message of Jesus was to bring “sinners to repentance” not to make them feel right about their sin. Jesus never aimed to viciously hurt anyone, but he would bruise an ego in order to save a soul. Sometimes the only way to get someone to see their error is to expose it for what it is. We must be careful in our desire to not offend that we do not imply an acceptance to others of what God clearly says is wrong.
