Truth Is Relative...

An amateur genealogical researcher, discovered that her great-great uncle, Seamus Ginnings  a fellow lacking in character, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. The only known photograph of Seamus shows him standing on the gallows. On the back of the picture is this inscription: "Seamus Ginnings, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889." When it came time to publish the family history, the accompanying biographical sketch is as follows:

"Seamus was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to service at a government facility, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Seamus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."

Truth, it seems for some, is relative. The world has gotten so use to twisting, stretching and bending truth that it has begun to think that it does really exist at all. Like Pilate, they don’t even really know what truth is.
The word of God has something different to say about Truth. John 17:17 tells us that God’s word is true and it is what we are sanctified in.  2nd Thessalonians 2:10 tells us we are “saved by believing in the truth”. 1st Timothy 2:4 says “God wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth”. 2nd Timothy 4:4 warns us that some will, “turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths”. Over and over the Bible shows us the importance of truth.
A person that thinks that truth can be changed and manipulated will have great difficulty in ever getting to the heart of the Gospel. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” One must accept that there are certain things that are so and no matter how we try to reshape them they will always be. Truth will stand!
