One of the most flustering things for college
students has to be buying books. According
to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, textbook prices have risen over three times
the rate of inflation in the past 38 years, a 1,041 percent increase. Students can’t do much about it since they are
in essence a captive audience. They must
buy what the professor assigns. In many
cases the way to save was to buy used older books, but it has become increasing
difficult to do because publishers are issuing new editions at much quicker
rate. Since the world change so fast,
the books must be constantly updated in order to keep up.
However there is one book that is the
text book for life and it has never needed a new edition.
In 2nd Peter 1:3 we read, “seeing
that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and
godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and
excellence.” Here we are told that
God has provided us with everything we need to live right with God. The
knowledge we need to be saved and live pleasing to God. That knowledge is found
in the word of God.
All Scripture is
inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for
training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for
every good work.

Timothy 3:16-17
