“Words of the Preacher: A study of the wisdom of Ecclesiastes”
Nothing worthwhile gets done without hard work. Our world today may abhor it, but hard work is still what makes great things. Still there are those that work hard yet see little from their effort. The Preacher tells us why in Ecclesiastes 10:10, “If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength. Wisdom has the advantage of giving success.” Hard work can be wasted when it is not used in the proper way. As the character Scrooge McDuck says, “Work Smarter, Not Harder”. We as Christians should never be afraid of hard work, but we need to be sure we have prepared for our task, so we don’t waste our effort.
